Malte sent us this simple stool made from wooden pallets. Here you can see a lot more nice projects.
Malte says: “The stool has also been the most established piece of furniture. No wonder: it’s versatile, sturdy and can be made from a lot of different material. We chose wood from pallets and there are a couple of good reasons for that:
The roughly tacked together slats usually don’t have a very long life span. Once on a big travel they loose their value pretty fast. But all those weathered pieces have too much history to just throw them away. We dismantle the pallets carefully and then clean, dry and plane them.
From the material we create a simple and stable stool with history. An additional charm adds the seat. It is compiled of several scrap materials like tin, brass, plywood, linoleum or acrylic glass. As a last touch we refine the stool with linseed oil or with a glaze in colour.”
